Jui-Fang is located upstream of Keelung River, the very foundation of northern part of Taiwan, where also the main transition of transportation through river route and land route in between Taipei town and Kamalan (east coast of taiwan), and also on the main route to Jiufen and Jinguashih during the gold mining period in the late Qing dynasity. The river land developing along with the transportation and mining age in the valley by the meandering river, the orange platform, where known as Jui-Fang begins. Therefore, the main idea of this project is indicating those local history, culture and geographic landmark by bring the images of river and mountains into this remodeling building.
The curved elements become main language in this project, which are expanding and transforming along this linear L shape building. It starts from the entry canopy towards inside of the building and bifurcates transforming into wall and ceiling which are stretching along the main circulation and leads to a boat looking reception docking aside and ends in the main universal panorama lift facing the origin of Jui-Fang, the orange platform. The orange platform in the valley appeared around mountains while moving up inside the lift, which leading to the main mountain shape collection area surrounded by existing trees and mountain aside.
Those curved elements also expanding outside of the building and becoming boundaries of the entry plaza, parking area, planters and main universal entry ramp facing the coming river directly. Those continuous and curved elements meandering along the building inside and outside as imagination of the river that indicates the geographic surrounded, local history, culture and stories which truly belongs to Jui-Fang herself.
瑞芳位居北台灣生命泉源基隆河上游谷地，為早期往來臺北城、葛瑪蘭(現今宜蘭)水路、陸路的轉折點，亦是清朝末期掏金人前往九份與金瓜石掏金必經之路；山谷間蜿蜒河道的灘地也隨著水、陸運與礦業的發展造就了瑞芳發源地-柑仔瀨，也因此驅使本空間改造案以山形與河道意像來指引瑞芳本身的歷史、文化與地理上的意涵。
曲線的空間元素為主要的空間主體，於這Ｌ型線性的空間架構裡不時的轉換弧形元素的架構，由入口空間的雨庇往內分岔延伸，成為隔間、展示的牆面與天花的邊界，兩空間元素間夾集為動線指引的光帶河道引領著訪客前往猶如停在河邊的服務櫃檯，進而導引至主要的景觀電梯遙望著東北角的發源地-柑仔瀨，使其在上昇的過程裡慢慢的於週邊地景裡浮現而出進入二樓群山峰巒的主要書庫空間；由入口空間的雨庇往外分岔延伸，成為入口休憩廣場的邊界與綠地邊界，分別轉換為區隔入口區與停車空間的格柵圍籬與主要進出的無障礙坡道指引著迎面而來的娟娟河道，使弧形空間元素與環境地理、歷史、文化如同基隆河般串起整個屬於瑞芳小鎮的空間故事。
